Core Creek Park | Lake Luxemborg
Project Description: Erosion Control

Enviroscapes conducted shoreline stabilization activities at Lake Luxemborg, part of Core Creek Park, in Middletown, New Jersey. Enviroscapes installed approximately 220 linear feet of standard silt fence, approximately 570 linear feet of 4-foot high, high-visibility orange construction fence around the established work area, and a scour hole with dimensions of 13-feet long by 9 feet wide by 2-feet deep lined with Mirafi 500X geotextile, followed by the placement of approximately 15-tons of rip rap stone (D50 = 10″). Enviroscapes then excavated approximately 210 cubic yards of soil from the designated area to create a wetland area. The excavated soil was transported to a designated area on the property and staged for use/management by others. Last Enviroscapes installed one (1) rock filter outlet and 50 linear feet of 3-inch PVC pipe.

Cedar Brook Park Lake Restoration Services
Project Description: Erosion Control

Working with the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation and J.A. Alexander, Enviroscapes conducted shoreline restoration and planting services at the Cedar Brook Park Lake. Working with a modified design, Enviroscapes initially installed 600 linear feet of 20-inch coir fiber BioLogs at seven (7) locations along the lake. BioLogs were staked every three (3) feet on alternating sides using 2-inch by 2-inch by 36-inch wood stakes and live stakes. Wood stakes were slotted and coir twine was tied to each stake across the BioLog to secure the log. Following installation of the Bio Logs, the areas were filled in with topsoil supplied by J.A. Alexander.

Once the soil was installed, restoration plantings included over 9,200 2-inch plugs, and 64 live stakes. Enviroscapes installed approximately 1,400 linear feet of 4-foot high, heavy-duty perimeter goose fencing, which encompassed the seven areas. Between the goose fencing, stakes, twine and ribbon were installed as an additional goose deterrent. Planting was conducted in May and June 2008, live stakes were installed in the fall 2008.
